Capital Campaign Update as Shared on Sunday Morning, March 23, 2025
- We are doing very well!
- We should celebrate how truly blessed we are here at Trinity!
- Our overall goal for all projects of $700,000 has nearly been met!
- Capital Campaign funds have come in strong from the congregation.
Trinity Foundation Contributions
- Original planned contribution of $250,000
- The Trinity Foundation will also cover any additional monies needed
- An example would be the cost of repairing rot in the church’s back wall. (This was not part of the original scope of work)
- In addition, several costs have risen within the past year.
- We are effectively borrowing money from ourselves to do these projects.
- All ongoing church improvements will be done using funds pledged by the current congregation, as well as funds that were left to trinity by members in years past.
- No loans will be taken out.
- Any Capital Campaign funds that are left at the completion of all projects will be returned to the Trinity Foundation.
Here's the Scoop on Our Church Refresh
- May 4th will be our last Sunday in the sanctuary this spring
- For the rest of the spring and summer, we will worship WITH Jackson Center Presbyterian Church at 10:00 a.m. where Dr. Craley and Jim Sankey will lead worship along with their organist Jane Buckley and their Commissioned Lay Pastor Bill Spangler
- We are grateful for their hospitality
- We HOPE to be back worshiping at Trinity when school starts. And we will keep you posted on the work as the summer progresses. Our contractor feels this timeline is do-able at this time.
- What's being done:
- Roof
- Steeple
- Additional Structural/Foundation Repairs will begin soon, and the kitchen door may be blocked off.
- All the pews will be temporarily removed from the sanctuary and stacked in Tait hall. They will be put back in after the renovation.
- Sanctuary floors refinished
- New drop ceiling installed
- The walls will be painted
- New carpet installed
- We will keep our current decorative lights and add new additional can lights
- Updated sound system to improve the sound for those worshiping with us in person and online.
- The chancel will look much like it does now, but with new carpet
- We are making the chancel space more flexible to be used by our many ministries and music groups. So we are removing the pews in the chancel and replacing them with solid wood church chairs designed to complement our space and give us the flexibility we need for all the music and ministry that happens up here.
- The lectern will be portable.
- Session commissioned Architectural Drawings that we will share with you in April so you can envision what the sanctuary will look like.
- New Flooring/Paint in Tait Hall, the backpack room, the table storage room, and Amy's office
- All of this work is being finalized with our construction team, session, and contractor. While we anticipate doing all these projects, we will adjust the scope of the project if necessary.
- With all this construction going on, for everyone's safety, the church parking lot and building will be closed for most of the summer. Amy Covert, our office Administrator, and Dr. Craley will work from home, but you can email or call the church office like you normally do and they will help you with whatever you need.
- This is a major project indeed, and we are grateful to everyone who is helping make this happen.
- This means, in the coming weeks, we will need to get the church ready for the construction project.
- We will let you know about dates in the future where you can help us move all the tables in Tait Hall to a new location and help us stack hymnals and Bibles in the choir room.
- Again, thank you to all of you for your financial support, and your support through prayer and helping hands. We give thanks for the blessing our church building has been to all of us, and look forward to keeping it a blessing for future generations.
